Q1. How have you classified your
hotels?
Hotels listed on our website have been classified on the basis
of available material at our disposal. While the principal
sources used in determining classifications include reports
from representatives, local and regional organizations, etc.,
we have relied heavily on personal judgement, as well as on
confidential reports and reactions from our customers. Every
effort is made to establish classifications that are accurate
and fair.
Due to differing standards in each country, state, or region,
hotels are classified in many instances on the basis of what
is available, not on a universal standards system. Broadly,
this is how we have classified the hotels:
Super Deluxe:
An exclusive and expensive luxury hotel, often palatial,
offering the highest standards of service, accommodations
and facilities – Elegant and luxurious public rooms
– A prestige address – Establishments in this
category are among the world’s top hotels.
Deluxe:
An outstanding property offering many of the same features
as Superior Deluxe – May be less grand and offer more
reasonable rates than the Superior Deluxe properties, yet
in many instances may be just as satisfactory – Safe
to recommend to most discriminating clients.
Standard:
An above average hotel – May be an exceptionally well-maintained
older hotel, more often a superior modern hotel specifically
designed for the first class market, with some outstanding
features – Accommodations and public areas are expected
to be tastefully furnished and very comfortable –
May be a good value, especially if it is a commercial hotel
– May be recommended to average clients and in most
cases will satisfy the discriminating ones.
Budget:
Primarily a budget property with mostly well-kept, functional
accommodations, some up to First Class standards –
Public rooms may be limited. Some of these hotels may have
some charming or intimate features – May be good value
– Should satisfy individuals (sometimes even discriminating
ones) or groups on a budget.
Tibet Travels & Tours (P) Ltd. has put in its best
efforts in classifying various hotels listed on our website
but does not warrant that the information herein is complete
or accurate, and does not assume, and hereby disclaims,
any liability to any person for any loss or damage caused
by errors or omissions in the work, whether such errors
or omissions result from negligence, accident or any other
cause.
What happens if I do not show up and I have already
paid?
Our refund policy is as follows: 100% refund for cancellations
made 30 days before departure.
90% refund for cancellations made 15 days before departure.
50% refund for cancellations made 1 to 14 days before departure.
Failure to turn up will result in no refunds.
What sort of facilities should I expect in Hotels
in this region?
Other than Budget (and even Budget in most cases), have
en-suite bathrooms in all rooms as well as full dining facilities,
Car Parking, Room Service, Bar and Restaurant as well as
Safety deposit boxes and fax and phone facilities.
Do you accommodate single travellers?
All our accommodation prices are based on double occupancy
(an industry standard). However, if you like, we can try
to book a room for you at a less expensive room category
than the one advertised (if available), or check to see
if a single supplement is offered.
Can I get a non-smoking room?
It is harder to find smoking rooms than non smoking rooms.
Most accommodation don’t allow smoking in the rooms
and will advise us of that at the time we make our enquiry.
However in Hotels they have smoking floors an you must advise
us at the time of your booking that you request a smoking
room. We will try our best to accommodate you. However please
understand that we may not always be successful.
Are children allowed to stay for free in Hotels?
Policies differ throughout this region. The following is
an example of the general discounts offered to children.
Once you put in a query our booking staff will be able to
advise you on the pricing policy for your accommodation.
Only children under 3 can stay free in hotel rooms. Children
under 12 normally have a 50% reduction. Reductions for children
under 18 are usually about 30% but the price varies from
hotel to hotel. Please put in your query at the time of
booking and they will be able to inform you about the exact
accommodation that you need.
Is your Cost Calculator 100% accurate?
No. Trying to make it 100% accurate would make it too complex
to use. The cost calculator is meant to be a rough guide.
The actual calculation will be done by us once we receive
your booking form.
Why does your booking form ask so many questions?
We do not belive in assuming things or doing things in half-measures.
We have carefully selected questions the answers to which,
will help us serve you better.
Why are all classes of hotels not avaliable in
all locations?
Unfortunately, all classes of hotels are not evenly distributed.
In certain areas only certain categories of hotels are avaliable.
Do you have a question that is not included here? If yes,
please email us and we shall to our best to be of service
to you.
What does 'Non-Classified Options' mean?
Very often large Super Deluxe or Deluxe type hotels and
resorts cannot or are not allowed to opperate in certain
areas as they could ruin the surroundings. In such cases,
hotels set up accommodation that would be appropriate to
these areas while at the same time ensure guest comfort.
